Meet your facilitator.
I’m Allison. I’m so glad you’re here, and I’m so sorry that you need to be.
I’m a coach, educator, speaker, researcher, and writer who helps mothers take back their peace and their power after the pain of cesarean birth.
My own unexpected c-section caused so much grief, anger, and confusion. Once I had healed, I wanted to make sure other mothers didn’t suffer the same way.
So I combined my personal experience with thousands of hours and dollars in trainings and certifications to bring forth The Cesarean Doula, a platform to support cesarean mothers and families around the globe with online education, workshops, and support groups, all baby-friendly and accessible from the comfort of their homes.
I have supported hundreds of women around the world with my online groups and programs.
I am a certified postpartum doula, certified VBAC doula, and I hold a certification in Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy and a Master’s Degree from University of California, San Diego.

-
The total community size ranges but most calls have 5-15 people present. It feels intimate and you won’t risk getting lost in the crowd.
-
This program is for all c-section moms, not just new moms. Mothers at all stages postpartum after c-section are welcome.
Whether your c-section was just a few days ago, or years ago, you will find so much value, meaning, and growth here.
That said, the topics we cover will be most relevant to mothers who had a cesarean within the last 3 years.
-
This program is trauma-informed and will be supportive for anyone who experienced a difficult birth or identifies as having birth trauma or any postpartum stress, anxiety, or depression.
While this group is not a replacement for therapy (please read “Is this group a substitute for therapy?” below), it is an extremely supportive additive to therapy and will involve many therapeutic tools and practices.
-
Yes, absolutely. Women join this group with every type of story and circumstance.
Everyone is welcome here.
If your birth or immediate postpartum had impact on you - whether you consider that impact birth trauma, grief, sadness, or you're not even sure, this is a safe place to work through your experiences.
I commit to ensuring a judgment-free space for all participants, regardless of birthing choices or circumstances.
All birth matters. All birth choices are valid. Your experience matters and you deserve care, empathy, support, and attunement. Period.
-
Many women who I work with don’t identify as having birth trauma but still feel unsettled about some aspect of their birth.
If this sounds like you, you’ll find many others who can relate in this community.
-
Absolutely not. This circle serves a different purpose from therapy and is designed to help you build a sense of belonging, relational safety, and community as you recover from a difficult or traumatic birth.
You will learn techniques and be exposed to different modalities that might help you on your healing path.
You will also learn from each other and find great solace in knowing that we are all connected by a shared thread.
If you have birth trauma - flashbacks about your birth, intrusive thoughts, extreme sadness or grief, or cannot think or talk about birth without becoming highly emotional and dysregulated - I highly recommend that you also seek the support of a therapist who specializes in trauma healing, ideally birth trauma in particular.
If you’d like help finding a therapist, please feel free to contact me.
I am not a therapist or a medical professional and do not give medical or psychiatric advice. This group can serve as a beautiful supplement to therapy; many of our participants have therapists in addition to participating in this group. Others do not. Everyone is different. You know yourself best.
