Some Important Details

Who is this webinar designed for?

This webinar is designed for anyone who had a cesarean birth that left them feeling some type of emotional stress or distress. It doesn’t matter if your c-section was planned or unplanned, an emergency or not…whether you identify as having “birth trauma” or not… you are welcome here.

And it doesn’t matter how long ago your birth happened — whether days, weeks, months, or years. If you are ready to begin healing your emotional wounds, you’ll find this webinar supportive.

Participation

This webinar will be a combination of lecture, activities (writing, reflection, breathing, grounding) and optional participant Q&A.

You will be encouraged to have your camera on to help create more safety and cohesion in the space.

And — this workshop is designed for mothers who are recovering from c-section, so it’s also totally understandable if having your camera or participating in that way doesn’t feel right for you.

Of course, you can bring your babies. And of course, there’s no need to brush your hair or wear clean clothes (unless that’s what you desire).

Participation in everything is optional. You should feel empowered to skip any activity that doesn’t feel right for you.

Zoom Access

Upon registering, you’ll receive a confirmation email with the Zoom credentials. You will also receive a 24-hour email reminder one day before the webinar.

Trauma-Informed

I am an experienced trauma-informed space holder and I hold a certification in Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy. Throughout this webinar, I’ll introduce somatic and trauma-informed practices designed to help participants stay grounded and minimize nervous system activation. Participation in these activities, like everything else we do, is optional.

Recordings

If you choose to speak or ask a question during the live webinar, your face and name will be edited out of the recording, but your voice may remain in the recording so that viewers can benefit from your share or question.

Within 4 days of the live session, all registrants will receive access to the recording via email.

Meet Your Facilitator

I’m Allison, The Cesarean Doula. My name might be kind of misleading... While I am trained as a doula, I don’t work with birth much. Instead, I doula mothers through healing from the emotional pain of cesarean birth.

My own traumatic c-section caused so much grief, anger, and confusion. I felt misunderstood and mistreated, and it was difficult to find the right kind of support. In reading other mothers’ stories, I discovered I was one of millions of women struggling after c-section.

I combined my personal experience with hundreds of hours in trainings and evidence-based insights to develop world-class, one-of-a-kind education and support groups to help cesarean mothers heal emotionally, and find belonging and safety, after emotionally difficult births.

I am a certified postpartum doula, a certified Advanced VBAC Doula, and I hold a certification in Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy and a Master’s degree from University of California, San Diego.

I offer online and in-person support groups, workshops, birth story healing sessions, and VBAC coaching for individuals and couples.
