Cesarean mothers are more likely to be separated from our babies after birth.
That means we are less likely to experience immediate skin to skin. And we are more likely to miss the Golden Hour.
While separation is sometimes medically necessary, more often, separating mothers and babies serves hospital protocols and ignores evidence-based recommendations for immediate and uninterrupted skin-to-skin.
Delaying skin-to-skin is associated with many negative outcomes for both mothers and babies, including difficulties with bonding and breastfeeding and higher rates of postpartum depression and anxiety.
Mothers who didn’t experience immediate, continuous skin-to-skin are also more likely to feel negatively about their birth.
If you were separated from your baby after birth - for any period of time and for any reason - I created this workshop to help you reclaim some of those lost moments.
While we can’t change what happened, you deserve techniques to help soften the pain, disconnection, and sense of loss that often arises when we’ve experienced separation.

Meet your facilitator.
I’m Allison. I’m so glad you’re here, and I’m so sorry that you need to be.
I’m a coach, educator, speaker, researcher, and writer who helps mothers take back their peace and power cesarean births that feel traumatic or emotionally difficult.
My own unexpected c-section caused so much grief, anger, and confusion. Once I healed, I wanted to make sure other mothers didn’t suffer the same way.
So I combined my personal experience with thousands of hours in trainings, research, and certifications to bring forth The Cesarean Doula, a platform to support cesarean mothers and families around the globe with online education, workshops, and support groups — all baby-friendly and accessible from the comfort of their homes.
I have supported hundreds of women around the world.
I am a certified postpartum doula, certified VBAC doula, and I hold a certification in Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy and a Master’s Degree from University of California, San Diego.
